He himene na Rawiri. Ko te Atua anake taku e tatari nei: kei a ia te whakaoranga moku.

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

2 K o ia anake toku kohatu, toku whakaoranga, toku pa hoki, e kore e nui toku ngaueuetanga.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 H eoi ano ta ratou e runanga ai ko te turaki i a ia i tona wahi teitei: e ahuareka ana ki te teka; e manaaki ana o ratou mangai, a e kanga ana a roto i a ratou. (Hera.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5 T atari, e toku wairua, ki te Atua anaki; ko ia taku e tumanako nei.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 K o ia anake toku kohatu, toku whakaoranga, toku pa hoki; e kore ahau e whakangaueuetia.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 K ei te Atua te whakaoranga moku, te kororia ano moku; kei te Atua te kohatu o toku kaha, toku piringa.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 H e pono he mea memeha noa nga ware, he teka noa nga rangatira; ki te paunatia ratou, mama noa ake ratou tahi i te horihori.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 K otahi korerotanga a te Atua, ka rua oku rongonga i tenei, no te Atua te kaha.

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
