1 U pon God alone doth my soul rest peacefully; from him is my salvation.

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

2 H e only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be greatly moved.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3 H ow long will ye assail a man; will ye, all of you, to break him down as a bowing wall or a tottering fence?

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 T hey only consult to thrust down from his excellency; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but in their inward part they curse. Selah.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5 U pon God alone, O my soul, rest peacefully; for my expectation is from him.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 H e only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 W ith God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 C onfide in him at all times, ye people; pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. Selah.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

9 M en of low degree are only vanity; men of high degree, a lie: laid in the balance, they go up together than vanity.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 P ut not confidence in oppression, and become not vain in robbery; if wealth increase, set not your heart upon it.

Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 O nce hath God spoken, twice have I heard this, that strength unto God.

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 A nd unto thee, O Lord, loving-kindness; for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
