1 A t that season Jesus went on the sabbath day through the grainfields; and his disciples were hungry and began to pluck ears and to eat.
At that time Jesus went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears and to eat.
2 B ut the Pharisees, when they saw it, said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do upon the sabbath.
But the Pharisees, seeing, said to him, Behold, thy disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on sabbath.

But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him?
4 h ow he entered into the house of God, and ate the showbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them that were with him, but only for the priests?
How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shewbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?
5 O r have ye not read in the law, that on the sabbath day the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are guiltless?
Or have ye not read in the law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
6 B ut I say unto you, that one greater than the temple is here.
But I say unto you, that there is here what is greater than the temple.
7 B ut if ye had known what this meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

And all the crowds were amazed and said, Is this the Son of David?
24 B ut when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man doth not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons.
But the Pharisees, having heard, said, This does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.
25 A nd knowing their thoughts he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.

And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom subsist?
27 A nd if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, your sons, by whom do they cast out? For this reason they shall be your judges.
28 B ut if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you.
But if I by Spirit of God cast out demons, then indeed the kingdom of God is come upon you.
29 O r how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house.
Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong ? and then he will plunder his house.
30 H e that is not with me is against me, and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters.
31 T herefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven.
For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
32 A nd whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come.
And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming.
33 E ither make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.
Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt. For from the fruit the tree is known.
34 Y e offspring of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Offspring of vipers! how can ye speak good things, being wicked? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
35 T he good man out of his good treasure bringeth forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
The good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things; and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure brings forth wicked things.
36 A nd I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:

Then he says, I will return to my house whence I came out; and having come, he finds unoccupied, swept, and adorned.
45 T hen goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man becometh worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this evil generation.
Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits worse than himself, and entering in, they dwell there; and the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. Thus shall it be to this wicked generation also.

And, stretching out his hand to his disciples, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren;
