1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your wrath.
O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 B e gracious to me, O Lord, for I am pining away; Heal me, O Lord, for my bones are dismayed.
Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
3 A nd my soul is greatly dismayed; But You, O Lord — how long?
My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?
4 R eturn, O Lord, rescue my soul; Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies’ sake.
5 F or there is no mention of You in death; In Sheol who will give You thanks?
For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?
6 I am weary with my sighing; Every night I make my bed swim, I dissolve my couch with my tears.
I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.
7 M y eye has wasted away with grief; It has become old because of all my adversaries.
Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.
8 D epart from me, all you who do iniquity, For the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping.
Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.
9 T he Lord has heard my supplication, The Lord receives my prayer.
The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.
10 A ll my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; They shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed.
Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
