1 I f I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 I f I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

4 L ove is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,

5 d oes not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 d oes not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 b ears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 L ove never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 F or we know in part and we prophesy in part;

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 b ut when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 W hen I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 F or now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 B ut now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
