1 O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

2 T hus I have seen You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory.

to see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.

3 B ecause Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips will praise You.

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4 S o I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.

5 M y soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

6 W hen I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches,

when I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.

7 F or You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8 M y soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

9 B ut those who seek my life to destroy it, Will go into the depths of the earth.

But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.

10 T hey will be delivered over to the power of the sword; They will be a prey for foxes.

They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.

11 B ut the king will rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him will glory, For the mouths of those who speak lies will be stopped.

But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
