1 N ow on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
2 T hen she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.”
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
3 P eter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
4 S o they both ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
5 A nd he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in.

6 T hen Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there,
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
7 a nd the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
8 T hen the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
9 F or as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
10 T hen the disciples went away again to their own homes. Mary Magdalene Sees the Risen Lord
Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.
11 B ut Mary stood outside by the tomb weeping, and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the tomb.

12 A nd she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

14 N ow when she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus.

15 J esus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”
Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
16 J esus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.
17 J esus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’”
Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

22 A nd when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
23 I f you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Seeing and Believing
Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
24 N ow Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25 T he other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26 A nd after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27 T hen He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28 A nd Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 J esus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” That You May Believe
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
30 A nd truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;
And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31 b ut these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
