1 S o they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it. Then they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God.

So they brought the ark of God, and set it in the midst of the tent that David had pitched for it: and they offered burnt sacrifices and peace offerings before God.

2 A nd when David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

And when David had made an end of offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.

3 T hen he distributed to everyone of Israel, both man and woman, to everyone a loaf of bread, a piece of meat, and a cake of raisins.

And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

4 A nd he appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to commemorate, to thank, and to praise the Lord God of Israel:

5 A saph the chief, and next to him Zechariah, then Jeiel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, and Obed-Edom: Jeiel with stringed instruments and harps, but Asaph made music with cymbals;

7 O n that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the Lord:

8 O h, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!

9 S ing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!

10 G lory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

11 S eek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually.

12 R emember His marvelous works which He has done, His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth,

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

13 O seed of Israel His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

14 H e is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth.

15 R emember His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations,

Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;

16 T he covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;

17 A nd confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,

and hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,

18 S aying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,”

saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;

19 W hen you were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

20 W hen they went from one nation to another, And from one kingdom to another people,

And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;

21 H e permitted no man to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes,

he suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

22 S aying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.”

saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

23 S ing to the Lord, all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.

24 D eclare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.

Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

25 F or the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods.

For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

26 F or all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens.

For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.

27 H onor and majesty are before Him; Strength and gladness are in His place.

Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

28 G ive to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength.

Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.

29 G ive to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!

30 T remble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved.

31 L et the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.

32 L et the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof: let the fields rejoice, and all that is therein.

33 T hen the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth.

Then shall the trees of the wood sing out at the presence of the Lord, because he cometh to judge the earth.

34 O h, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

35 A nd say, “Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, To give thanks to Your holy name, To triumph in Your praise.”

And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

36 B lessed be the Lord God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord. Regular Worship Maintained

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.

37 S o he left Asaph and his brothers there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord to minister before the ark regularly, as every day’s work required;

So he left there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord Asaph and his brethren, to minister before the ark continually, as every day’s work required:

38 a nd Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight brethren, including Obed-Edom the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah, to be gatekeepers;

and Obed-edom with their brethren, threescore and eight; Obed-edom also the son of Jeduthun and Hosah to be porters:

39 a nd Zadok the priest and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord at the high place that was at Gibeon,

and Zadok the priest, and his brethren the priests, before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place that was at Gibeon,

40 t o offer burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of burnt offering regularly morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the Law of the Lord which He commanded Israel;

to offer burnt offerings unto the Lord upon the altar of the burnt offering continually morning and evening, and to do according to all that is written in the law of the Lord, which he commanded Israel;

41 a nd with them Heman and Jeduthun and the rest who were chosen, who were designated by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because His mercy endures forever;

and with them Heman and Jeduthun, and the rest that were chosen, who were expressed by name, to give thanks to the Lord, because his mercy endureth for ever;

42 a nd with them Heman and Jeduthun, to sound aloud with trumpets and cymbals and the musical instruments of God. Now the sons of Jeduthun were gatekeepers.

and with them Heman and Jeduthun with trumpets and cymbals for those that should make a sound, and with musical instruments of God. And the sons of Jeduthun were porters.

43 T hen all the people departed, every man to his house; and David returned to bless his house.
