1 H im that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
Now him that is weak in the faith receive, not to determining of questions of reasoning.
2 F or one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
One man is assured that he may eat all things; but the weak eats herbs.
3 L et not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Let not him that eats make little of him that eats not; and let not him that eats not judge him that eats: for God has received him.
4 W ho art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own master he stands or falls. And he shall be made to stand; for the Lord is able to make him stand.
5 O ne man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
One man esteems day more than day; another esteems every day. Let each be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 H e that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
He that regards the day, regards it to Lord. And he that eats, eats to Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, to Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.
7 F or none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
For none of us lives to himself, and none dies to himself.
8 F or whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.
For both if we should live, to the Lord we live; and if we should die, to the Lord we die: both if we should live then, and if we should die, we are the Lord's.
9 F or to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
For to this Christ has died and lived, that he might rule over both dead and living.
10 B ut why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
But thou, why judgest thou thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou make little of thy brother? for we shall all be placed before the judgment-seat of God.
11 F or it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
For it is written, I live, saith Lord, that to me shall bow every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 S o then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
So then each of us shall give an account concerning himself to God.
13 L et us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.
Let us no longer therefore judge one another; but judge ye this rather, not to put a stumbling-block or a fall-trap before his brother.
14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except to him who reckons anything to be unclean, to that man unclean.
15 B ut if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
For if on account of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer according to love. Destroy not him with thy meat for whom Christ has died.
16 L et not then your good be evil spoken of:
Let not then your good be evil spoken of;
17 f or the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in Holy Spirit.
18 F or he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
For he that in this serves the Christ acceptable to God and approved of men.
19 L et us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
So then let us pursue the things which tend to peace, and things whereby one shall build up another.
20 F or meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
For the sake of meat do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed pure; but evil to that man who eats while stumbling.
21 I t is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
right not to eat meat, nor drink wine, nor in which thy brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak.
22 H ast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Hast thou faith? have to thyself before God. Blessed he who does not judge himself in what he allows.
23 A nd he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
But he that doubts, if he eat, is condemned; because not of faith; but whatever not of faith is sin.
