1 I will praise Jehovah with my whole heart; I will recount all thy marvellous works.

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee; I will sing forth thy name, O Most High.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

3 W hen mine enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished at thy presence:

When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.

4 F or thou hast maintained my right and my cause. Thou sittest on the throne, judging righteously.

5 T hou hast rebuked the nations, thou hast destroyed the wicked; thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.

6 O enemy! destructions are ended for ever.—Thou hast also destroyed cities, even the remembrance of them hath perished.

O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

7 B ut Jehovah sitteth for ever; he hath ordained his throne for judgment.

But the Lord shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.

8 A nd it is he that will judge the world with righteousness; he shall execute judgment upon the peoples with equity.

And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.

9 A nd Jehovah will be a refuge to the oppressed one, a refuge in times of distress.

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

10 A nd they that know thy name will confide in thee; for thou, Jehovah, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

11 S ing psalms to Jehovah who dwelleth in Zion; tell among the peoples his doings.

Sing praises to the Lord, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

12 F or when he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them; the cry of the afflicted ones hath he not forgotten.

13 B e gracious unto me, O Jehovah; consider mine affliction from them that hate me, lifting me up from the gates of death:

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:

14 T hat I may declare all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion. I will be joyful in thy salvation.

that I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

15 T he nations are sunk down in the pit they made; in the net that they hid is their own foot taken.

The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.

16 J ehovah is known the judgment he hath executed: the wicked is ensnared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

17 T he wicked shall be turned into Sheol, all the nations that forget God.

The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

18 F or the needy one shall not be forgotten alway; the hope of the meek shall not perish for ever.

For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.

19 A rise, Jehovah; let not man prevail: let the nations be judged in thy sight.

Arise, O Lord; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.

20 P ut them in fear, Jehovah: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
