1 A nd David the king said unto all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God hath chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Jehovah God.

Đa-vít nói với cả hội chúng rằng: Sa-lô-môn, con trai ta, chỉ một mình con đó mà Đức Chúa Trời đã chọn, hãy còn trẻ tuổi non-nớt, và công việc lại lớn lao; vì cái đền đó chẳng phải cho loài người đâu, bèn là cho Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời.

2 N ow I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of divers colors, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

Ta đã hết sức sắm cho đền của Đức Chúa Trời ta, nào vàng dùng về đồ làm bằng vàng, nào bạc dùng về đồ làm bằng bạc, nào đồng dùng về đồ làm bằng đồng, nào sắt dùng về đồ làm bằng sắt, nào gỗ dùng về đồ làm bằng gỗ, lại sắm những ngọc bích, ngọc để khảm, ngọc chiếu sáng, ngọc đủ các màu, và các thứ đá quí, cùng đá cẩm thạch trắng rất nhiều.

3 M oreover also, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, seeing that I have a treasure of mine own of gold and silver, I give it unto the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

Lại, vì lòng ta yêu mến đền của Đức Chúa Trời, nên ngoại trừ số ta đã sắm cho đền thánh, ta cũng dâng cho đền của Đức Chúa Trời ta các đồ bằng vàng và bằng bạc thuộc riêng về ta,

4 e ven three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, wherewith to overlay the walls of the houses;

tức là ba ngàn ta lâng vàng Ô-phia, và bảy ngàn ta lâng bạc thét, đặng dùng bọc các vách đền;

5 o f gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all manner of work to be made by the hands of artificers. Who then offereth willingly to consecrate himself this day unto Jehovah?

vàng dùng về các việc làm bởi tay người thợ. Vậy ngày nay, ai là người vui lòng dâng mình cho Đức Giê-hô-va?

6 T hen the princes of the fathers' houses, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly;

Bấy giờ, các trưởng tộc, các trưởng của các chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên, các quan tướng cai ngàn người và trăm người, các kẻ coi sóc công việc của vua, bèn vui lòng,

7 a nd they gave for the service of the house of God of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

dâng về công việc đền Đức Chúa Trời, năm ngàn ta lâng vàng, mười ngàn đa-riếc, mười ngàn ta lâng bạc, mười tám ngàn ta lâng đồng, và một trăm ngàn ta lâng sắt.

8 A nd they with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Jehovah, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

Phàm ai có đá quí, thì giao cho Giê-hi-ên về dòng Ghẹt-sôn, để dâng vào kho của Đức Giê-hô-va.

9 T hen the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Jehovah: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

Dân sự lấy làm vui mừng về điều mình trọn lòng vui ý dâng cho Đức Giê-hô-va; và vua Đa-vít cũng lấy làm vui mừng lắm.

10 W herefore David blessed Jehovah before all the assembly; and David said, Blessed be thou, O Jehovah, the God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

Tại trước mặt cả hội chúng, Đa-vít chúc tạ Đức Giê-hô-va mà rằng: Hỡi Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, tổ phụ chúng tôi ôi! đáng chúc tạ Ngài cho đến đời đời vô cùng!

11 T hine, O Jehovah, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Jehovah, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Hỡi Đức Giê-hô-va sự cao cả, quyền năng, vinh quang, toàn thắng, và oai nghi đáng qui về Ngài; vì muôn vật trên các từng trời và dưới đất đều thuộc về Ngài. Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! nước thuộc về Ngài; Ngài được tôn cao làm Chúa tể của muôn vật.

12 B oth riches and honor come of thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thy hand is power and might; and in thy hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Hoặc sự giàu có, hoặc sự vinh quang, đều do Chúa mà đến, và Chúa quản trị trên muôn vật; quyền năng và thế lực ở nơi tay Chúa; tay Chúa khiến cho được tôn trọng và ban sức mạnh cho mọi người.

13 N ow therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Bây giờ, Đức Chúa Trời chúng tôi ôi! chúng tôi cảm tạ Chúa và ngợi khen danh vinh hiển của Ngài.

14 B ut who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee.

Nhưng tôi là ai, và dân sự tôi là gì, mà chúng tôi có sức dâng cách vui lòng như vậy? Vì mọi vật đều do nơi Chúa mà đến; và những vật chúng tôi đã dâng cho Chúa chẳng qua là đã thuộc về Chúa.

15 F or we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding.

Vì chúng tôi tại trước mặt Chúa vốn là kẻ lạ, và kẻ ở đậu như các tổ phụ chúng tôi; các ngày chúng tôi tại trên đất, khác nào cái bóng, không mong ở lâu được.

16 O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee a house for thy holy name cometh of thy hand, and is all thine own.

Hỡi Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời chúng tôi ôi! các vật nầy mà chúng tôi đã sắm sửa để cất đền cho danh thánh của Chúa, đều do nơi tay Chúa mà đến, và thảy đều thuộc về Chúa.

17 I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, that are present here, offer willingly unto thee.

18 O Jehovah, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee;

19 a nd give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.

Xin Chúa hãy ban cho Sa-lô-môn, con trai tôi, một lòng trọn vẹn, để gìn giữ các điều răn, chứng cớ, và luật lệ của Chúa, cùng làm cho các công việc nầy, xây cất cái đền mà tôi đã sắm sửa thờ lạy cho.

20 A nd David said to all the assembly, Now bless Jehovah your God. And all the assembly blessed Jehovah, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped Jehovah, and the king.

Đa-vít nói với cả hội chúng rằng: Hãy chúc tạ Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của các ngươi. Cả hội chúng bèn chiến trận Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của tổ phụ mình, cúi đầu xuống mà thờ lạy Đức Giê-hô-va, và lạy vua.

21 A nd they sacrificed sacrifices unto Jehovah, and offered burnt-offerings unto Jehovah, on the morrow after that day, even a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink-offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,

Qua ngày sau, chúng dâng những tế lễ cho Đức Giê-hô-va, và dâng những của lễ thiêu cho Đức Giê-hô-va: một ngàn con bò đực, một ngàn con chiên đực, một ngàn con chiên con, cùng các lễ quán cặp theo, và nhiều của tế lễ khác vì cả dân Y-sơ-ra-ên;

22 a nd did eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great gladness. And they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto Jehovah to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

trong ngày ấy, chúng ăn uống rất vui mừng tại trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va; chúng lần thứ nhì tôn Sa-lô-môn, con trai Đa-vít, làm vua, và nhơn Đức Giê-hô-va xức dầu cho người làm vua chúa, và lập Xa-đốc làm thầy tế lễ.

23 T hen Solomon sat on the throne of Jehovah as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

Bấy giờ, Sa-lô-môn ngồi lên trên ngôi của Đức Giê-hô-va, làm vua thế cho Đa-vít, cha người, và người được hưng thạnh; cả Y-sơ-ra-ên đều vâng theo mạng người.

24 A nd all the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons likewise of king David, submitted themselves unto Solomon the king.

Các quan trưởng, và người mạnh dạn, luôn với các con trai của vua Đa-vít, đều phục tùng vua Sa-lô-môn.

25 A nd Jehovah magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

Đức Giê-hô-va khiến cho Sa-lô-môn được rất coi trọng tại trước mặt cả Y-sơ-ra-ên, và ban cho người được oai nghiêm, đến đỗi trong Y-sơ-ra-ên chẳng có một vua nào trước người được như vậy.

26 N ow David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

Đa-vít, con trai Y-sai, cai trị trên cả Y-sơ-ra-ên.

27 A nd the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

Người cai trị trên Y-sơ-ra-ên bốn mươi năm: tại Hếp-rôn, người cai trị bảy năm, và tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, người cai trị ba mươi ba năm.

28 A nd he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

Người băng hà tuổi cao, thỏa nguyện về đời mình, về sự giàu có, và về vinh hiển; Sa-lô-môn, con trai người, cai trị thế cho người.

29 N ow the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

Các công việc của vua Đa-vít, từ đầu đến cuối, đều chép trong sách của Sa-mu-ên, đấng tiên kiến, trong sách của Na-than, đấng tiên tri, và trong sách của Gát, đấng tiên kiến;

30 w ith all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.

cuộc trị vì người, sự mạnh dạn người, các việc xảy ra cho người, cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, và cho các nước khác, đều đã chép trong các sách ấy.
