P ois Faraó, rei do Egito, tendo subido, tomara a Gezer e a queimara a fogo, e matando os cananeus que moravam na cidade, dera-a em dote a sua filha, mulher de Salomão.

For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer and burned it with fire. He killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and then gave it as a wedding-gift to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.
