H e said, `I a voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the Lord, as said Isaiah the prophet.'

فَقالَ يُوحَنّا مُسْتَخدِماً كَلِماتِ النَّبِيِّ إشَعْياءَ: «أنا ‹صَوْتُ إنسانٍ يُنادِي فِي البَرِّيَّةِ: اصْنَعُوا طَرِيْقاً مُسْتَقِيْماً لِلرَّبِّ.›»
