H e said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

فَقالَ يُوحَنّا مُسْتَخدِماً كَلِماتِ النَّبِيِّ إشَعْياءَ: «أنا ‹صَوْتُ إنسانٍ يُنادِي فِي البَرِّيَّةِ: اصْنَعُوا طَرِيْقاً مُسْتَقِيْماً لِلرَّبِّ.›»
