H e brought out the people who were in it, and put them under saws, under iron picks, under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick kiln; and he did so to all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

Pe locuitorii cetăţii i-a scos afară, i-a pus să muncească cu ferăstraie, cu grape de fier şi cu securi de fier şi i-a pus la făcut cărămizi. La fel a făcut el şi cu celelalte cetăţi amonite. Apoi David s-a întors la Ierusalim împreună cu întreaga oştire.
