A nd he brought forth the people that were therein, and put them under saws, and under harrows of iron, and under axes of iron, and made them pass through the brick-kiln: and thus did he unto all the cities of the children of Ammon. So David and all the people returned unto Jerusalem.

Pe locuitorii cetăţii i-a scos afară, i-a pus să muncească cu ferăstraie, cu grape de fier şi cu securi de fier şi i-a pus la făcut cărămizi. La fel a făcut el şi cu celelalte cetăţi amonite. Apoi David s-a întors la Ierusalim împreună cu întreaga oştire.
