A nd he brought forth the people who were there, and put them to saws and iron threshing sledges and axes, and made them labor at the brickkiln. And he did this to all the Ammonite cities. Then and all the men returned to Jerusalem.

Pe locuitorii cetăţii i-a scos afară, i-a pus să muncească cu ferăstraie, cu grape de fier şi cu securi de fier şi i-a pus la făcut cărămizi. La fel a făcut el şi cu celelalte cetăţi amonite. Apoi David s-a întors la Ierusalim împreună cu întreaga oştire.
