S ihon, regele amoriţilor, locuia la Heşbon şi domnea de la Aroer, care se află pe malul uedului Arnon, de la jumătatea uedului, peste o jumătate din Ghilad, până la uedul Iabok, hotarul amoniţilor.

There was Sihon king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the side of the Arnon valley, and from the center of the valley and half of Gilead as far as the river Jabbok, beside the Ammonites.
