S ă nu existe printre voi nici un bărbat sau femeie, nici un clan şi nici o seminţie a căror inimă să se întoarcă astăzi de la Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, ducându-se să slujească zeilor acestor neamuri. Să nu existe printre voi nici o rădăcină care produce otravă sau amărăciune.

Beware lest there should be among you a man or woman, or family or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from the Lord our God to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood,
