H a, mehemea ahau i whawhai ki te kararehe i Epeha, pera ana me te tangata, he aha te pai ki ahau? Ki te kahore te hunga mate e ara, e kai tatou, e inu, ko apopo hoki tatou mate ai.

If, after the manner of man, I have fought with beasts in Ephesus, what is the profit to me if dead do not rise? let us eat and drink; for to-morrow we die.
