a nd they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, making mortar and brick and in all manner of service in the field; all their service, in which they made them serve, was with rigor.

e amareggiarono la loro vita con una dura schiavitú, nei lavori d'argilla e di mattoni e in ogni sorta di lavori nei campi. Li obbligavano a fare tutti questi lavori con asprezza.
