a nd old and patched sandals upon their feet, and old garments upon them; and all the bread of their provision was dry mouldy.

وَارتَدُوا أحذِيَةً مُهتَرِئَةً مُرَقَّعَةً وَثِياباً مُهتَرِئَةً. وَكانَ كُلُّ خُبْزِهِمْ يابِساً أوْ مُتَعَفِّناً أوْ مُتَكَسِّراً.
