A nd Gedaliah swore to them and their men, saying, Do not be afraid of the Chaldean officials. Dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

Entonces Gedalías les hizo juramento a ellos y a los suyos, y les dijo: No temáis ser siervos de los caldeos; habitad en la tierra, y servid al rey de Babilonia, y os irá bien.
