a nd thou hast remembered all the way which Jehovah thy God hath caused thee to go these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble thee to try thee, to know that which in thy heart, whether thou dost keep His commands or not.

Souviens-toi de tout le chemin que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a fait faire pendant ces quarante années dans le désert, afin de l'humilier et de t'éprouver, pour savoir quelles étaient les dispositions de ton coeur et si tu garderais ou non ses commandements.
