A nd thou shalt remember all the way which Jehovah thy God hath led thee these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thy heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not.

Souviens-toi de tout le chemin que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a fait faire pendant ces quarante années dans le désert, afin de l'humilier et de t'éprouver, pour savoir quelles étaient les dispositions de ton coeur et si tu garderais ou non ses commandements.
