f orty days being tempted by the Devil, and he did not eat anything in those days, and they having been ended, he afterward hungered,

وَهُناكَ كانَ إبلِيْسُ يُغرِيْهِ بِالخَطِيَّةِ أربَعِيْنَ يَوماً، وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ شَيئاً أثناءَ تِلكَ الفَترَةِ، لَكِنَّهُ جاعَ في نِهايَتِها.
