A nd all the people are gathered as one man unto the broad place that before the water-gate, and they say to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, that Jehovah commanded Israel.

Quando chegou o sétimo mês e os israelitas tinham se instalado em suas cidades, todo o povo juntou-se como se fosse um só homem na praça, em frente da porta das Águas. Pediram ao escriba Esdras que trouxesse o Livro da Lei de Moisés, que o Senhor dera a Israel.
