A ll the people gathered themselves together as one man into the wide place that was in front of the water gate; and they spoke to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which Yahweh had commanded to Israel.

Quando chegou o sétimo mês e os israelitas tinham se instalado em suas cidades, todo o povo juntou-se como se fosse um só homem na praça, em frente da porta das Águas. Pediram ao escriba Esdras que trouxesse o Livro da Lei de Moisés, que o Senhor dera a Israel.
