Ezra 9:7 ~ Esdra 9:7

S ince the days of our fathers we have been exceeding guilty to this day; and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests, have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

Dai giorni dei nostri padri fino al giorno d'oggi siamo stati grandemente colpevoli, e a motivo delle nostre iniquità noi, i nostri re e i nostri sacerdoti siamo stati dati in mano dei re delle nazioni straniere, in balìa della spada, dell'esilio, del saccheggio e dell'obbrobrio, come è al presente.
