T hen ceased the work of God’s house which is at Jerusalem; and it ceased until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

وَتَوَقَفَ العَمَلُ فِي بَيتِ اللهِ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ، وَلَمْ يُستَأنَفِ العُمَلُ إلّا فِي السَّنَةِ الثّانِيَةِ مِنْ حُكمِ دارِيُوسَ، مَلِكِ بِلادِ فارِسَ.
