T hen work on the house of God in Jerusalem ceased, and it was stopped until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

وَتَوَقَفَ العَمَلُ فِي بَيتِ اللهِ فِي مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ، وَلَمْ يُستَأنَفِ العُمَلُ إلّا فِي السَّنَةِ الثّانِيَةِ مِنْ حُكمِ دارِيُوسَ، مَلِكِ بِلادِ فارِسَ.
