E se día los israelitas se vieron en aprietos, pues tenían mucha hambre porque Saúl había hecho jurar al pueblo que no comerían en todo el día, hasta que se hubieran vengado de sus enemigos. Cualquiera que desobedeciera quedaría bajo maldición.

And the men of Israel have been distressed on that day, and Saul adjureth the people, saying, `Cursed the man who eateth food till the evening, and I have been avenged of mine enemies;' and none of the people hath tasted food.
