A poi i -a dat legămîntul tăierii împrejur; şi astfel Avraam, cînd a născut pe Isaac, l -a tăiat împrejur în ziua a opta; Isaac a născut şi a tăiat împrejur pe Iacov, şi Iacov pe cei doisprezece patriarhi.

And made with Abraham a covenant (an agreement to be religiously observed) of which circumcision was the seal. And under these circumstances became the father of Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day; and Isaac when he became the father of Jacob, and Jacob, the twelve patriarchs.
