E u era como um cordeiro manso levado ao matadouro; não tinha percebido que tramavam contra mim, dizendo: “Destruamos a árvore e a sua seiva, vamos cortá-lo da terra dos viventes para que o seu nome não seja mais lembrado”.

But I was like a tame lamb that is brought to the slaughter; I did not know that they had devised inventions and schemes against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
