O h, se avessi nel deserto un rifugio da viandanti! Io abbandonerei il mio popolo e me ne andrei lontano da costoro, perché sono tutti adùlteri, un’adunata di traditori.

Oh, that I had in the wilderness a lodging place (a mere shelter) for wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go away from them! For they are all adulterers; they are a gang of treacherous men.
