“ Speak to all the leaders of Shechem. Say to them, ‘Which is better for you? Should all seventy of Jerubbaal’s sons rule over you? Or should one man rule over you? Remember that I am your own bone and flesh.’”

Spuneţi, vă rog, în auzul tuturor locuitorilor din Sihem:, Este mai bine pentru voi ca şaptezeci de oameni, toţi fii ai lui Ierubaal, să stăpînească peste voi, sau un singur om să stăpînească peste voi?` Şi aduceţi-vă aminte că eu sînt os din oasele voastre şi carne din carnea voastră.``
