W hen Pilate heard this, he had Jesus brought in front of him. Pilate sat down at the place where men stand in front of him if they are thought to be guilty. The place is called the Stone Floor.

Hearing this, Pilate brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called the Pavement —in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
