D avid said, “I went without food and cried while the child was still alive, for I said, ‘Who knows? The Lord might be kind to me and let the child live.’

فقالَ داوُدُ: «عِنْدَما كانَ الطِّفلُ ما يَزالُ حَيًّا، رَفَضْتُ أنْ آكُلَ وبَكَيتُ لأنَّني فَكَّرْتُ في نفسي: مَنْ يَدْري؟ لَرُبَّما شَفِقَ اللهُ عَلَيَّ وَتَرَكَ الطِّفلَ يَحْيا.
