S o there were recruited from the divisions of Israel one thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.

وَهَكَذا تَمَّ حَشدُ ألفِ رَجُلٍ مِنْ كُلِّ عَشِيرَةٍ مِنْ أُلُوفِ إسْرائِيلَ. تَمَّ اختِيارُ اثْنَي عَشَرَ ألفَ جُندِيٍّ لِهَذِهِ الحَملَةِ.
