N ow when Saul had taken the kingdom over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, the sons of Ammon, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines; and wherever he turned, he inflicted punishment.

După ce a luat Saul domnia peste Israel, a făcut război în toate părţile cu toţi vrăjmaşii lui: cu Moab, cu copiii lui Amon, cu Edom, cu împăraţii din Ţoba, şi cu Filistenii; şi ori încotro se întorcea, era biruitor.
