W hen Saul took over the kingdom of Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side: Moab, the Ammonites, Edom, the kings of Zobah, and the Philistines. Wherever he turned, he made it worse for them.

După ce a luat Saul domnia peste Israel, a făcut război în toate părţile cu toţi vrăjmaşii lui: cu Moab, cu copiii lui Amon, cu Edom, cu împăraţii din Ţoba, şi cu Filistenii; şi ori încotro se întorcea, era biruitor.
