“ Speak, now, in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem, ‘Which is better for you, that seventy men, all the sons of Jerubbaal, rule over you, or that one man rule over you?’ Also, remember that I am your bone and your flesh.”

„Vă rog să spuneţi în auzul tuturor locuitorilor din Şehem: «Ce este mai bine pentru voi: să domnească peste voi şaptezeci de bărbaţi, toţi fii ai lui Ierub-Baal, sau să domnească peste voi un singur bărbat? Aduceţi-vă aminte că sunt os din oasele voastre şi carne din carnea voastră!»“
