K ei rite koutou ki o koutou matua, i karanga ra nga poropiti o mua ki a ratou, i mea, Ko te kupu tenei a Ihowa o nga mano, Tahuri mai inaianei i o koutou ara kino, i a koutou mahi kino: otiia kihai ratou i rongo, kihai hoki i whai taringa ki ahau, e ai ta Ihowa.

Do not be as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus hath the LORD of the hosts said; Turn now from your evil ways and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, said the LORD.
