C osì Madian fu umiliato davanti ai figli d'Israele e non alzò piú il capo; e il paese ebbe riposo per quarant'anni, durante la vita di Gedeone.

Thus Midian was broken before the sons of Israel so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the land rested forty years in the days of Gideon.
