M a, sebbene glielo ripetessero tutti i giorni, egli non dava loro ascolto; per cui essi riferirono la cosa a Haman, per vedere se Mardocheo avesse persistito nel suo comportamento. Egli aveva infatti loro detto che era giudeo.

Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily unto him, and he did not hearken unto them, that they told Haman to see whether Mordecai’s word would stand; for he had told them that he was a Jew.
