A nd, behold, the whole family is risen against thy handmaid, and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he slew, and we will destroy the heir also. So they shall quench my coal which is left and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the earth.

Ora tutta la parentela è insorta contro la tua serva, dicendo: "Consegnaci colui che ha ucciso il fratello, affinché lo facciamo morire per la vita di suo fratello che egli ha ucciso e per sterminare anche l'erede". In questo modo spegneranno l'unico tizzone acceso che mi è rimasto e non lasceranno a mio marito né nome né discendenza sulla faccia della terra».
