A nd, behold, the whole family is risen against thy handmaid, and they say, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he slew, and so destroy the heir also. Thus will they quench my coal which is left, and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.

Ora tutta la parentela è insorta contro la tua serva, dicendo: "Consegnaci colui che ha ucciso il fratello, affinché lo facciamo morire per la vita di suo fratello che egli ha ucciso e per sterminare anche l'erede". In questo modo spegneranno l'unico tizzone acceso che mi è rimasto e non lasceranno a mio marito né nome né discendenza sulla faccia della terra».
