A nd Saul chose him three thousand men out of Israel: there were with Saul two thousand in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin; and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

Саул выбрал себе в войска в Израиле три тысячи человек. Две тысячи были с ним в городе Михмасе и в нагорьях Вефиля, а тысяча − с его сыном Ионафаном в городе Гиве, что в земле Вениамина. Остальной народ он отпустил по домам.
