A nd Saul chose him three thousand men out of Israel: there were with Saul two thousand in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin; and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

Saul chose 3, 000 men of Israel; 2, 000 were with in Michmash and the hill country of Bethel, and 1, 000 with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. The rest of the men he sent away, each one to his home.
