M oreover, Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll; but he would not hear them.

وَمَعْ أنَّ ألْناثانَ وَدَلايا وَجِمَرْيا، تَوَسَّلُوا إلَى المَلِكِ كَي لا يَحرِقَ المَخطُوطَةَ، إلّا أنَّهُ لَمْ يَستَمِعْ إلَيهِمْ.
